Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

A tripple fermentation beer that shows very clowdy orange, great strong taste with some bitter orange flavors. Powerful and very good.

Nice light yellow with a thin white cover with huge chunks of brown yeast make a nice lava lamp in the goblet. Light spicy, fruity, bubblegum aroma. Taste is light maltiness, yeasty spice, warming alcohol and fruit in the finish.

On tap at the Yardhouse, SD, before Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine. Dark yellow amber color. Light head. Fruity yeasty sweet nose. Light and fruity in the mouth, with a back up of light bitterness. I’ll have to sample this again when better notes are possible.

Beautiful nose of banana, honey and a candy sweetness. Some citrus there, along with vanilla and floral hops. Some (moderate) leathery yeast accompanied by a sweet malt. The flavours are tea-like, with rose, honey and alcohol. Has a sour twist, like wine. Yeast gives it earthy tones. Peppery (almost chili) spice near the end of the mouthful. The finish is bitter and slightly straw-like. Very nice - warming and powerful yet light and easy drinking.

1pint bottle: Poured a semi light blond color with heavy carbonation and heavy sediment. Heavy citrus/hoppy scent. Taste is nothing that leaves a "i want another" impression. Will finish this and likely never try again.

Ah, the old standby. You can find this stuff basically anywhere that sells decent beer. Golden-amber color with a little haze and a white head. Belgianesque yeasty aroma. Yeasty, well-spiced, and a little sweet, with light fruit notes and some alcohol.

33cl bottle from a Leclerc in Colombes, Paris. Hazy amber with a ring of white head; slightly spicy yeasty aroma; smooth and soft with some apricot and tropical fruit flavours; oily texture; alcohol is not evident but the finish is rather heavy and disappointing. I don’t see the attraction of this one.

Nice belgian strong ale. Sweet with lots of spiciness, but also manages to be quite smooth. There’s no alcohol burn, but has a little warmth to it. dried fruit flavors dominate.
