Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

On tap at Chumley’s Pours yellow and hazy with white head. Smells of appropriate phenols, sweet malts, and apricots - great! The flavor is really good, it’s spicy, peppery, sweet, with a bit of funk and a sweet aftertaste. Palate is thick and foamy. Another excellent brew.

Trappist glass. Pale brass on the pour, with a light white head(resilient). Boozy sweet aroma with some sweet fruits and tons of yeast. Unremarkable boozy flavor, some banana, some other floral/fruit tones. Long lasting alcohol burn like a brandy.

Pours golden with slight haze and fizzy white head. Lots of sparkling co2. Straw/hay flavor, much like Duvel but a touch darker. Hops level low but present. Definitely not a great value at $4 for a small bottle.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden-yellow with a thick, foamy, white head that lingers nicely. Crisp and sweet aroma of citrus hops, spices, lemons, sugar. Taste has a lot of spices and sugary-fruity sweetness, with hops and lemons. Lingering sweet spiciness. Very drinkable and tasty.

pours hazy gold with with largish rocky head. Aroma is fruity, spicy. Flavor is much the same. Nice spice kick at the end. Not the "best beer in the world" but good nonetheless

I was cleaning out a closet today and I found this beer review that I had written earlier this year. Delirium Tremens is a hazy, quite sparkling, golden ale with small particles floating in it. It has a foamy white head that shows good retention and leaves good lacing. The aroma has notes of sugar, barnyard, leather, nutmeg and candy, like Mike & Ikes. It is medium-full bodied; soft and smooth with a dry finish. It has a very full flavor that’s slightly sweet. There are notes of leather, black pepper, apple and phenol. It has a warm, boozy aftertaste. Quite classic!

Pour is a gold with carbonation that keep a small head aloft. Smells like spicy, fruity, wonderful yeast. Taste is much of the same. Very light for 8.5% abv. An easy drinking Belgian. My kind of brew.
