Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Pours a glowing yellowish orange color with a thin fizzy white head. Smell is bright, light malt, somewhat wheaty, citrusy and orange like. Taste is orange rind bitterness, clean crisp malt and it has a medium mouthfeel with fizzy carbonation. Pretty easy drinking with nice clean flavors.

Bright golden beer with plenty of head. The beer started to foam out of the bottle immediately after uncapping. Bright orange liquid with a dissipating and somewhat fragile head. Aroma is spicy and citric with some alcohol. Flavor is a touch sweet and yeasty for me. More orange citrus flavor than expected. Lacks significant depth. Not bad but just ok for a Belgian Strong Ale. It finishes dry and earthy. Feel is a bit thin and fizzy for the style. I had high hopes for this one as I had not tried it for a few years and it is a fairly famous Belgian. It did not quite pan out but this is more a testament to my preference for bigger Belgians than any serious lacking on the part of this beer. This was the small bottle but I have a 750ml waiting as well so this rating will get a revisit soon.

FINALLY A proper Belgian ale that I actually like. Ive had Duvel and Schnieder Aventinus, and I didnt much care for either but this was awesome It was fruity and very well balanced. It sounds a little off, but this made for a great pair to my seasoned tenderloin with bleu cheese sauce. Cant wait to try its brother Nocturnum. Cheers

Just for the record, this is not like any Belgian Strong Ale I have ever had. It has the complexity, it is just much lighter in all aspects. Golden orange pour with a big frothy white head. Tons of lacing. Smell was nice with hints of hops, fruits, citrus and underlying malt. Flavor was very well done, sweet, fruity and flowery with a touch of spice and sour. Incredible finish considering the 8.5% abv. You cannot taste the alcohol what so ever.

Unclear orange look with a huge foemy white head. Sweet fruity aroma mixed with alchohol and some citrus. Wellbalanced thick fruity sweetness and alchohol in the flavor. Very drinkable!

25.5 oz bottle from Trinity Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Nice Citrusy, flowery aroma...Very light and a little cloudy...pretty thick head. Nice citrusy kind of grape-fruity flavor...a bit of pepper...kind of odd but good. Great flavor. Goes down very smooth...a little burn from the pepper. Overall I love it.

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Murky light gold appearance with a fluffy white head. Yeasty aroma with vanilla, malt and flowery hop also evident. Citrus flavours with a kick of pepper and spice. Long dry finish and surprisingly light for its strength. Very enjoyable.
