Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle, pours a nice gold color with a tall rich looking white head. Smells of lemon, fresh hops and spice. Taste is rich with yeast, and some spicyness. Nice mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation. Good strong ale.

Pours a clear amber with modest head and decent lacing. Aroma is of dry citrus, spice, and a definitive yeast presense. Flavor is slightly acidic, with some tart citrus aspects, and decent balance.

pours amber with a solid white head. Aroma of dry citrus with a bit of acidity, not in a bad way though. Flavor is much the same, with lemon zest complimenting some dry sweetness. Palate is nothing special, but not bad- a solid beer overall.

Bottle. Pours pale golden, slightly cloudy. Fizzy white head which dissipates. A lot of clove in the aroma, quite sweet smelling, some spice, fruity. Flavour is quite fruity, very sweet, full of clove and spice. A bit yeasty, a bit of alcohol at the end. Another dangerously drinkable Belgian!

Bottled. Pours yellow with a large white head. Aromas of yeast and citrus fruit. Tastes of grapefruit and pineapple. Thin finish. Overall, a decent beer, but not great.

Bottle. Pours a very fizzy orange/gold with a huge head and aromas of bananas, cloves & bubble gum. Flavor starts off with the banana and cloves, then transitions into a sweeter middle and finishes with a little bt of an alcoholic taste/warmth.

How on earth have I not rated this one before? I have had this a million times and like all Delirium beers it is good as hell! Hazy, orangish pour wtih a smallish head. Aromas hit with malt, sugar, syrup, dried fruit, and some sweet spices. Flavor is full and rich. Sweetness, fruity, and complexity describe this one. Damn good.
