Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottled, cork marked 2007. Pours clear, golden, fine white head. Nose is yeasty, spicy, estery. Flavor is citrus (lemon), yeast (brett-like), and tart with a dry finish. Just a hint of alcohol at the end.

the great standard of Belgian beer, its rich and strong with a high Alcohol content, at the n it has a slightly tangy taste. this is beer that will convert all macro-swillers.

750 from River City Cellars, Richmond. Golden to orange pour, slightly cloudy body with an estimable frothy head. Slightly sweet aroma balanced out by some nice spices and earthy flavors in the taste. The mouthfeel is nice and full, with some hops giving it liveliness and a nice peppery finish that complements the yeast.

poured from a 750 into a duvel glass. cork dated this year. pours light and clear, but with protein sediment. smell isd neutral to slightly spicey. head dissipates quickly. taste shows alcohol, may be less with aging. nice continuous carbonation. apple notes asd it warms. a very nice beer that will only get better with aging.

I finally found a bottle at Dilly Deli in Mariemont, OH. Poured a golden amber with a decent amount of suspended sediment. The nose was incredibly complex, with malt, orange peel, and apple butter. The taste matched the smell in complexity and in flavor. The mouthfeel was moderately fizzy, which balanced the complex flavor nicely. Overall, it’s easily the best beer I’ve tasted, outscoring several trappists.

Bottle 12oz, aroma was sweet poured a beautiful bronze color with a nice white head. The flavor was of banana, and apple, a little spicy something is also going on. It is good but I don’t think I could drink more than 2 at a time

Bottle at Associated Supermarket on Fulton St, NYC (the price here was $9.99, a relative bargain). Aroma typical to this style, yeasty, malty, fruity. Relatively clear golden color, persistent white head. Flavor is malty sweet, some banana, other fruits. The palate leaves a sweet malty flavor, and is effected by the carbonation. Ok, but not as good as I would expect.

I thnk I let this sit longer than it should have because this was super skunky. It was my timing or a bad bottle.
