Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Sampled on draft in a trappist glass at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. A very clear gold color with a small white head that had short retention. A fruity, banana and orange aroma with some citrus and earthy hops, and a bit of yeast; not a strong aroma. The taste was a sweet, lightly fruity one with a sour finish, and a tad short on character. Very wet and smooth in the mouth, with low carbonation and a lighter/thinner feel, a bit too watery.

Bottle. Golden amber, big white head. Aroma of fruits, alcohol, malts. Flavour is very sweet and malty, with some spices in it. Alcoholic finish. Way too sweet.

Great example of a Belgian that knows how to balance carbonation with a medium body without going fizzy on you. Really young, yeasty, apple butter and sugar aroma and flavor. Very enjoyable but I think one bottle will do the trick in one night because it is pretty sweet. Very light in the color for a strong ale and reminds me of an abbey triple. Very good beer.

Everytime i pour this stuff i can’t get over the head on this stuff. So much head that you think it’ll turn into the blob and eat your wife and kids. You get a lot of fruit on the nose, and it’s very hazey. The Bottle is even cool too, looking like a piece of Ceramic. The bubble structure reminds me of Champagne. Be aware, the Carbanation in this 8.5% ABV makes this a quick buzz. The beer goes right to your liver and kicks it until you cry. One of my favorate Belgians ! But Be aware, don’t piss of the Pink Elephant, he’ll go over and sit on your face until your endtrails shoot out of you !

Poured a clear, golden yellow, hugh head. Sweet aroma. Flavor was clean and crisp, very drinkable.

I found this one to be extremely bready and yeasty and fairly one dimensional due to the fact. It has a very pale color and pours with a huge head. Not a bad beer, but I didn’t find anything truly good about it.

Poured a golden yellow color with a big white fluffy head. Aroma was of sweet candy sugar, lots of fruits, and some honey maybe. Flavor was also very fruity and crisp, not so much spicy as other belgians, more on the fruity side.

Golden colour, off-white head. Aroma is yeasty and malty. Flavour has malts, spices and citrus. The alcohol spoils it.
