Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Light tan beer with a thick white head. Sweet aroma with a hoppy fragerence to it. Went down pretty smooth with a bitter bite. Had fruity, citrus taste.

A great overall beer. Light color with medium to high carbonation. Drinks like a soda almost with the taste of licorice and a high alcohol content

Light blond coloured beer with small white head, medium carbonation. Hoppy aroma. Full sprankling palate. Finish is hoppy and little dry.

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold color with a big white head. Sweet fruity aroma, clove as well. Interesting, starts sweet and citrus like but finishes with a strong metallic and hoppy bite. B

Pours cloudy golden with a huge, gorgeous head. Fruity and spicy nose, the flavor is similar to the nose with a dry finish. I’m not sure whether like the elephants or the gators more.

Tremens is the best selling of the Delirium line up. If you prefer a lighter beer then this is the way to go. It pours a luscious gold with a thick ivory head. The flavor hints of sweet fruits and malt and a slight bitter end. Excellent beer.

7/08/2008: Delierium Tremens is an excellent beer. It is strong and flavorful, yet delicate and complex. There is a wonderful interaction of dry, slightly fruity maltiness, some clove and bubblegum in the middle, and then a dry finish with a touch of bitterness. The alcohol content is well hidden, yet the body isn’t really that thick or anything. Overall this wonderful balance of flavor and characteristics that makes this beer very good and quite enjoyable.

250 ml draught at Bodega in Columbus, Ohio. Rating #1300 for this beer...
