Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Very unique bottle -- looks like a wine cooler or fruit punch. Cloudy copper color with nice and quickly dissipating white head. Citrus aroma. Slightly citursy flavor and lightly sweet taste followed by a savory yeasty Belgian aftertaste. Good beer, but not my favorite Belgian style.

Lovely gold color with a fluffy white head. Fruity nose, like apple with subtle traces of spice. An almost "apple cider with cinnamon" taste. A still fruity and slightly bitter finish. Good stuff.

Thanks to Patra for this wonderful birthday gift. This one bubbled up right out of the bottle as I opened it. It poured a nice golden blond color with an aggressive foamy white head. Little bits of yeast sediment were floating in the beer that was otherwise clear. The aroma has lovely notes of yeast, sweet fruits and spice. The flavor doesn’t disappoint. Doughy yeast and malts mix with sweet fruits, pineapple and candy. The body is medium and the carbonation is lively. Overall it’s very refreshing yet complex. Very good I must have more!

On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. Poured into a McChouffe tulip glass, with a lot of liquid and only a little head. The blame goes to the bartender who poured it, but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Aroma is quite banana-y with some spiciness. Flavor is dominated by banana and clove, with a grape bubblegum note. Thin on the palate, and a little fizzy, but quite drinkable.

Giant clumps of yeast on the pour. Cider color, large white foam head that wouldn’t leave. Nose is so so, honey comes through. Nice crisp flavor that balances sweetness and bitterness. Enjoyable and easy drinking.

The pink elephant...pours a hazy golden colour with a nice lasting head. Citrusy aroma, very sweet with a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle pours a cloudy honey lemon color with a large white head that dissapates some around the edges, but leaves a large island of foam in the middle. A view from the side of the glass displays a miniature stream of bubbles originating from the bottom of the trappist glass and raising up to the surface which seems to constantly replenish the foam head. Aroma is predominantly yeast and fresh citrus. Similar flavor but additional hints of malt as well. Very lively mouthfeel with tons of tiny carbonation. Flavorful, slightly dry aftertaste that lingers. I think the 8.5% is well hidden.
