Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

pours a nice golden color with a finger of white head that will stick around until the beer is completely gone. smells of clove, banana, and coriander. tastes of pear, banana, apple, and coriander. spotty lacing. has a very spritzy feel in the mouth, not unlike champagne. not bad, but there are much better Belgians available.

I’ve always been partial to darker beers until I tried this, By far one of the best beers I’ve ever had. You would never know that it is 8.5 % alcohol.

Pours a clear honey, absolutely no nebulous qualities. no real head, just very light amounts of white lacing. Aroma is apple undertones but a very light sweetness. It is rather cidery ut not strong vinegar touch...just the sweetness. Flavor is definitely of apples, light hops and citrus. A sweet beer but not syrupy in the least. Fair amount of carbonation.

Draught. No head. Pale copper. Sugary aroma. Fruity sugary flavour with alcohol. Some plum in the finish. Not sure about it, really.

Hazy yellow-orange pour with generous bubbly but relatively short-lived head. Aromas of lemon and orange peel, tart apples, spice. Same tastes on palate, but a little fruitier and definitely yeastier. Easy to take down, especially for an 8.5% beer. Good, but overpriced.

Aroma is a fruity yeast scent. Color is golden yellow with very good carbonation and a big, huge head with a thick top. Taste is fruity, crisp and bitter. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down with a fizzy crisp feel. Finish comes in with a fruity yeast flavor, a faint hop flavor and a full bitterness. There is a mellow alcohol taste in the after taste. Not the best Belgian brew but very tasty all the same. Its lacking that dried fruit flavor that others have and is bit more bitter than I like a Belgian to be. Also the carbonation is a bit overactive and the head is a bit too much.

Tap @ Teresa’s Wayne, PA. Clear (not hazy) golden, with 1/2" white head topping up the tulip glass. Not much smell for it was cold. Nice flavor of a Belgian tripel style with some apple & pear candy & caramelized sugar, also floral notes including honeysuckle. Very silky smooth, somewhat rich, well into medium bodied with a fullness of flavors. The sweetness wasn’t overdone. Some hop bitterness & flavor. Alcohol well integrated. This is a very nice quality Belgian ale but I don’t think it’s worth pursuing because of it’s high price.
