Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

750. Corked, baled, and foiled. And that foil? They glue it on. Nasty. Very tacky--literally. It takes a fair amount of motivation to excite me enough to open one of these as it is. Don’t make it any harder than it already is, Huyghe. Pours a crystal clear, slightly burnished dark gold. Creamy, somewhat fizzy white head. Dusty caramel green apple nose. Kind of trippel-y, with honey added. Sticky, fizzy body, tons of sugar everywhere: green apple, perfume, bubblegum, honey. Just a big dessert-y goo. Cloying finish.

Golden, yellow colored brew. Some flakes inside. Sweet and fruity aroma. Flavor is sweet, fruity, malty, some spices. Overall a nice brew.

Poured from bottle - 11.2fl oz. Smells like lemon poppy muffin, with a bit of ocean. Cloudy golden, thick white head. I’m tasting brown sugar, banana, pepper, yeast, spice. Alcohol in back of mouth is not overpowering - just right. Has a nice sweet/sour/bitter thing going. Finished well. Outstanding.

Blonde, touch of orange, with thin but tall head. Sage and flower nose. Mouthj is more sage, floral hops and citrus all dancing very well together. Nice work palate. Great craft here.

Pours a hazy orange gold with a big off white head. Lots of little sediment floaties are visible. Leaves layered lacing. Has a very powerful fruity yeast aroma. The flavor pretty closely matches the aroma, with a bit of caramel maltiness in it as well. The fruitiness leans towards sweet citrus pulp in flavor. Some spice and earth. A pretty amazing brew, if a bit too pricey for me to have often.

Bottle. Golden/straw coloured pour with nice fluffy head. Fruity, malty aroma. Fruity, spcy, caramel taste. A fun Belgian beer with a cute glass.

Bottle conditioned, 330ml aged 7 yrs, 9% version. Clear gold with white head. This beer ages so well, it becomes rounded and full, the spice and citrus notes blend into a candy pear drop flavour that fills the mouth, the alcohol is still present, but is warming and smooth instead of a little rough. There is a caramel note, but avoids the port like flavours that darker beers age into. It’s obviously not the greatest beer in the world, as per the blurb, but it is pretty good and better for aging.

awesome bottle, pretty decent beer. pours a golden tint with not as big a head as the commercial picture shows. smells of fruit and citrus but with a hint of spice. taste almost indentical as the smell in my opinion. pretty good beer, love the bottle.
