Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

This beer is a highly carbonated, highly unique anf delicious brew. I consider it my summer favorite, which can be bad since it is so high in alcohol (i believe 9 percent). Notes of caramel, citrus and a nose of yeasty goodness.

Draft @ the Alley Bar. Pour golden, yellow with white head. Aroma of yeast, spices, and citrus. Taste is highly carbonated. Strong alcohol taste in the finish. Decent.

Pleasant aromas of yeast, malt and some light citrus. Very good yeasty flavor that was balanced well by the malt, finished a little bitter and dry. Very refreshing and unique beer (unique bottle as well).

Silk Elephant/Draft Was a little to "hoppy" which is usually an issue for me.

Tastes both from bottle and from tap at Delirium Café in Brussels. Tap is to be recommended! The aroma is much more herb-infused when poured from the tap. Ofcourse the head stays frothy a lot longer too. Very refreshing beer with hints of herbs. A toned donw version of Tripel Karmeliet is what it makes me think of. Very recommendable and enjoyable!

From the bottle at the 42nd St Oyster Bar in Raleigh this ale poured a golden amber with a thick white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, caramel and malt. Taste was fruity and smooth with a nice malty balanced flavor. Solid beer with a nice finish.

750ml: tulip: sssnnniiiiiiiiffffff: smells like clove, banana, bright yeasts, citrus. Leaves a foamy dry head that last throughout and produced great lacing. The taste is a as complex as the nose with all the same notes, add in the noticeable ABV. The carbonation is high and nicely washes away the lingering booze flavor, leaving only the sweet qualities.

750 bottle into a glass-FIRST DRINK-Awesome, just as good as I remember, Im used to floaties being at the bottom of the bottle, but they were throughout as I poured, ignore them, the beer is just too good. HALF GLASS-Good good good. FINISH-This beer was classic belgium in my opinion, behind only Chimay blue for my favorite belgium beers of all time. Drink up, it’s so good!
