Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

~Fruity spicy scent, pears and clove, Belgian candy sugar. ~Pours a clear orange with white rocky head. ~Lot of honey and sugars in taste. Very sweet. ~Medium feel, sweet finish. ~Too much sugar in this one. Too sweet for me.

Bottled. Hazy golden and lighter orange with white head lasting. Aroma is very citrus/fruity, wheat, and booze, also yeasty and spicy. Flavor starts out sweet but ends dry in finish and hop biting. Starts crisp. Spice taste like cardamon and yeast. Bites kind of like white wine and is quick ending.

33CL bottle, Orange amber with a bubbly, nerf top that very quickly receded to leave an off white ring an a lasting, but thin, film. Interesting aroma with banana, apricot, malt, and some vinegary sourness. Surprisingly, there was no apparent sourness in the flavour, which was strong in banana and higher alcohols. Also, some sweetness, but not a lot of identifiable flavours and not really complex. This beer finishes very cleanly with only a slight hint of bitterness. Carbonation explodes in the mouth. Medium body. Good but nothing extraordinary.

From tap and a bottle. Cloudy gold with white medium, long lasting, head. Beligum yeast, flower, banana, apple and hint of bubble gum. Cream, banana, wheat biscuit, apple and herbs with a nice balance of alcohol, bubbles, sweetness and bitterness. A bit watery. Considering the taste, the finish is short. A more full body with higher alcohol would be better. Beer with flowerly aroma that is relaxing and with potentials.

Pours a golden amber with a medium wheat head. Aroma is yeast, citrus and spice. Flavour follows accordingly, with a dry finish. Decent Belgian Strong, but overrated.

Well I’m about to bust the string of excellent ratings that this beer just got. Ok, it pours a nice mostly transparent golden color. Has notes of fruit and spice with a little Belgian yeast funk. Tastes well balanced but weak. Light fruit and spice. Aftertaste or finish isn’t overly pleasant. Bitter funk. Tastes a little stale. This is a fresh bottle though. Good brew that just misses the mark in execution.

Pours clear amber-golden, with a one finger white head, good and lasting lacing. Aroma of caramel, banana, biscuit, apple, with hints of bubblegum and grass. Medium body, zesty, crisp, lightly tart. Flavors of caramel apple, biscuit, some floral notes, and a mild grassy finish. Solid malty sweetness up front, balances nicely with light tartness midpalate and a mild bitter finish.

A single look at the packaging and the name makes you say: "instant classic". Very complex, fruity-caramel-yeast flavour, no alcohol traces, increadibly smooth. Great.

Bottle 09.12.15: Golden and clear in color with some yeast particles floating around. Rocky head. High carbonation. This one is fruity. The spice bouquet is typical of Belgian brew: cloves.... It has a med body finish is bitter and short. A very decent beer and must drink during the Christmas holidays.
