Commercial Description:
A local favorite. The pale malts, dry hopping and higher alcohol give this unfiltered beer a strong, complex flavor. Be careful, you might get hooked!

A hazy orange amber ale with a thin off white head. A light malts and hops aroma, non-descript, a bit herbaceous. In mouth, light caramel malt and light hops, not very strong, rather mushy....On tap at brewpub, August 16 2009.

On tap at Boonville Beer Fest. Yeah Dempsey’s! Way to have the same name as the classic Pennsylvania diner (R.I.P. 1946-2007). This is a decent brew from Dump - er - Dempsey’s (sorry, non-Pennsylvanians won’t get that one). Golden amber color with a white head. Aroma of caramel malt and citrusy hops. Flavor is more of the same, with earthy notes and a little alcohol. Medium body.

On tap @ Dempseys poured a hazy amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, orange, light grapefruit and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, citrus and light pine with a smooth moderatly bitter finish.

This is tasty with good flavour and balance but unusually light for the style. It is a slightly hazy light amber with a medium, dense, creamy white head that lasts a long time and leaves pretty good lacing. The aroma is malty grain with earth and leaves, and hints of pine and bread and a trace of citrus. It smells more English than American to me. The taste, however, is more American, with defintie citrusy hops, mostly orange and grapefruit, and a hop bitterness, but balanced with a light but solid sweetness with bread and alcohol, although the alcohol is not overly strong. The definite predominant flavour is the mixed citrus hops, but this is pretty well balanced by the light malt body and the bready finish. It is not as rich as others of the style, but it is more light and refreshing, and quite crisp.
