A nice malty brew with a spice nutmeg yeast and a brown sugar sweetness. Glad that Denison is making a revival of sorts! dhurtubise (568), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

It is full bodied without being very assertive. Of the lagers, this is my least favorite Denison beer, but still quite worthwhile. VeloVampire (490), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma of roasted malts and a bit of hoppiness too. Flavours much the same, but with surprisingly light body given the colour of the beer. Toasted black malt, some nice hoppy bite to balance and a lingering faintly bitter finish. Refreshing. An enjoyable pint, and Michael’s work is most commendable. Good show. I tried this beer on May 16, 2008 at "C’est What Restaurant" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark reddish brown with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, roasted malt, some sugar, and a little hoppish tone. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sweet and has a nutty character to it. An excellent beer. ChrisThomson (405), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2007 Draught at The Victory Café, Toronto - came dark brown, quite dark actually, with a thin and foamy off-white head. Lots of dark sweet malt in the aroma, roasty and nutty. Flavour is very smooth and full, with lots of nutty, earthy flavours and roasty malt all the way through. Malty, lighty dry hoppy finish provides some nice bitterness at the close. Very refreshing and a fine example of this style of lager. Very well made, expertly balanced.
