I'm SO glad that this beer has been revived after the closure of Denison's Brewpub earlier this year. It remains a world class example of it's style, with the classic banana and clove combo in the aroma, wonderful fruit and yeast in the flavour, and that amazingly crisp and lingering finish that keeps you coming back for more. I can't wait for patio season to start so I can sit in the sun on a warm afternoon and enjoy a pint or two (or three...) of this. Ahhhhhh... Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 23, 2002 This is the best wheat beer that I have had (well besides Aventinus, and this is different). Murky yellow color. Banana, fruit, banana, bubble-gum and banana aroma that reaches over into taste. Ends sweet and quick. I could drink this all day. kmweaver (2474), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 15, 2008 Draft @ Volo. Pours a hazy, toasted golden color with some fine particulates; thick, creamy off-white head with great retention and lacing that coats the glass; gorgeous pour. Nicely toasty nose, showing some lemon and husky wheat character; slightly light, with touches of clove. Medium mouthfeel: creamy, soft, velvety texture in the mouth; perfect presence; toasty wheat, lemony citrus with light acidity, and a solid dry clove presence; not intensely dense, but complex enough while still going down like water; I wanted to drink this for hours; gorgeously presented hefeweizen. Medium finish: toasty malts, dry cloves, and touches of vanilla and citrus; nicely dry and toasty. Boutip (2380), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2009 Tap at C’est What: Cloudy light dirty beige color weizen with a small foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dominating wheat malt is very refreshing. Taste is also dominated by loads of wheat with some very subtle notes of cloves. This is missing some banana ester which I usually look for in this style. Body is quite full with good carbonation. I very enjoyed that beer but I can’t say that it is necessarily the best weizen I have ever tasted. Nekronos (2265), Xalapa, Mexico

By the moment I had my nose a little blocked, so maybe I couldn’t taste it properly. IT has the correct orange features in the taste. VEry cloudy. Thin foam with an aftertaste new to me and a little alcoholic. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a nice hazy, cloudy golden. Off-white lace. Aroma of sweet bananas. Very intoxicating in that regard.
Fantastic flavour. Sour and fruity.
I'm really looking forward to drinking this beer again! radiomgb (2037), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2003 Murkey yellow in colour with a huge banana aroma. Flavour is of wheat, banana and is quite sweet. This is a great summer beer. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2003 Growler. Aroma of banana, clove, lemon, yeast, very faint lactic acid and plenty of esters. Solid, opaque golden yellow color, quite a lot of yeast in this one. Lemony, fruity flavors abound, again just slightly lactic and quite spicy, especially on the finish. Very nice and one of the better German Wheats I've sampled to date.
