Aroma of fresh, dry grainy rye and malt with a touch of roasted malt. Body starts semi-sweet grainy and roasty before a thinner drier bittersweet finish with some lingering dark chocolate and rye. An interesting brew. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 7, 2009 The aroma fits the style pretty good but it has some metallic and smokey elements that go over the top for me. The toastiness is there as is coffee but still it’s not good enough for me. The appearance is nice with an average head and deep dark brown color. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is OK but too thin for me. Overall a drinkable stout that is somewhat dry. Palidor19 (1791), Brandon, Florida, USA

black with ruby edges, big dense tan head, dry roasted malt aroma with a slight hint of styleistic tartness, creamy body with a bit of oily character, nice mellow roasted flavor, light bitterness in the finish, the tartness is present in the flavor to add a bit of complexity,
