Commercial Description:
"We felt we had to do something special to mark our 19th Anniversary," said brewmaster Larry Sidor, "so we took a vow of silence and brewed our first Belgian style ale ever to be bottled."

The straw colored Strong Golden Ale is made from an impressively international list of ingredients that acknowledge the diverse roots of craft beer. "We used Czech Saaz, Slovenian Golding, Pacific Northwest Liberty, and Brewers Gold hops," said Sidor, "along with French pilsner malt, and Belgian white candy diamonds and bitter orange peel from the island of Curacao for a little extra kick and sizzle."

Sweet grain, golden raisins, mead, and bit of oak. Light alcohol. Nice tripel aroma. Light golden body with very thin head that quickly dissipates. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Starts sweet with mead and oak, golden raisins, and grape must. Mild alcohol warming. Nice sweet warming finish with light grape tang and candi sugar. Sweet after with a bit of nutty chalkiness.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured a golden color with slight haze. Solid white head and excellent lacing. Nice attractive pour. Nose is of sweet malts, fruit, honey, and some light spices. Mouthfeel rich and a litle oily. Flavor was of fruit with the high alcohol showing a little. Finish was decent. I actually liked this a lot.

Bottle from Bottle Barn; Nose of banana, spices,, sweetness, and light spices; bright yellow with a small yellow-tinged head; flavor has some hop bitterness, , citrus, caramel, sweetness(light), and spiciness; body is medium with a light but lingering, bitter hop finish. Good, not great!

I was unimpressed by this beer, I thought it would have more character. But its a fairly generic golden ale. Decent body, but nothing unique going on.

really liked this bond street ale- very malty with lots of hop citrus and a nice pear, apple, bannana, earthy, sweet malt backbone. Pretty astringent although low to moderate ester concentration. I liked this as a NW inspired belgian ale, not being a fan of the traditional euro-style. This had a mix of things great about american pale ales with a nice belgian kick. May be hard to classify it as a belgian strong but it is a very nice drink regardless.

Dark golden in color with a large frothy white head. Citrus, hops, and yeast in the nose. Strong citrus flavors consisting of lemons and oranges are accented by yeast, and some spice. Good, but Deschutes normally does better.

Bomber.

I’m usually pretty fond of the Deschutes Bond Street series, but this one is quite a disappointment. It does alright on the aroma - lots of lemon and pear - at fridge temperature, but as it warms it becomes cloying and the flavor follows in the worst way. Bandaid, banana, sweet sticky corn with a mismatched attempt at a strong bitter finish.
