Commercial Description:
"We felt we had to do something special to mark our 19th Anniversary," said brewmaster Larry Sidor, "so we took a vow of silence and brewed our first Belgian style ale ever to be bottled."

The straw colored Strong Golden Ale is made from an impressively international list of ingredients that acknowledge the diverse roots of craft beer. "We used Czech Saaz, Slovenian Golding, Pacific Northwest Liberty, and Brewers Gold hops," said Sidor, "along with French pilsner malt, and Belgian white candy diamonds and bitter orange peel from the island of Curacao for a little extra kick and sizzle."

Maybe it’s more an imperial golden ale? Classic pilsner/saaz saazish aroma on top of powdered sugar &honey. just a couple drops of orange away from yellow, white head fades quickly. so quaffable but not without a bit of body. a slight hop edge followd by a wall of sweet but not cloying, fairly clean finish with warming.

Draft Peaks BrewPub. Gold body, nice white head. Aroma is sweet with corn, honey, pale malts. Taste is much like a malt liquor, some caramel, light hops in the background. Not sure how this is supposed to be a Belgian Strong Ale?

Draft. Golden beer with a nice white head. Low malty, yeasty aroma. Malty, slight bready flavor, some bubblegum, and earth. Medium body. Lingering bubblegum and malt. Much better with food.

Bottle. Aroma of citrus, hops and flowers. Colour golden with lasting white head. Much lacing. Flavour of citrus, malt, and hops, with a lingering bitter finish.

Draft. Pours with a golden color. Aromas of grains and hops. Flavors of alcohol, grains and some metallic finish but not much of a Belgian yeast. There is a caramel like sweetness in the background as well. More like an amped up blond than a Belgian but not bad.

This reddish gold ale poured with a miniscule off-white head. The flavor is very malty with a slightly bitter finish. There is a noticeable presence of candy sugar and spices, as well as a somewhat carbonated mouthfeel.

Aroma of citrus and light malt. Orange tinged golden color with a white head. Medium bodied, almost, with moderate carbonation. Starts with sweet caramel/candy, followed by some bitter, along with ripe stone fruit and citrus. Not much spice, except for a peppery sensation as a sip goes down. The finish is not dry, but there is bitter. The overall impression is of moderate sweetness accompanied by disparate flavors. Good stuff.

pours lightly golden with a thin frothy head that goes away pretty darn quick. smells grassy with malt and a note of citrus. a bit sour on the taste, bitter and not too heavy, with a hint of tangerine, and some fermented fruit, lively carbination, leaves the tounge a bit thick and dry. not as good as their mirror pond or black butte but still alright.
