| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 7, 2008 Poured from a 22 oz. bottle. Murky, sunny gold appearance. Pasty, sticky aroma of corn starch and syrup, cereal grains, some straw , honey and pineapple. Crusted sugar of burnt citrus fruits. Unlikeable. Flavor is grassy and crisp, with lots of pungent vegetal and earthy flourishes of old noble hops that tend to waft foul tones alongside a too bold alcohol presence. Raging sugars. Citrus perfume. Cheap champagne. Palate is syrupy, coolly spicy, lightly carbonated, reticent; diminishing on a feather of warm honey malt seared with uncomplicated booze. Shying away from cloying territory, favorably, at the very end. Thanks for sharing, Brad! hellbilly (1532), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 25, 2008 Thanks to bitbucket for the trade. Pours a translucent golden with a smaller bubbly white head that left some lacing. Aroma of grainy cereal malts, mixed citrus, bready Pilsner malt and maybe just some hints of Belgian yeast. Reminded me a lot of a Heller Bock in terms of aroma. Flavor was a lot of the same. Grainy/bready malts, some noble hop spiciness, citrus, some alcohol heat and just a touch of orange and Belgian yeast. Looks like my numbers are just above the average. While not an amazing beer and not really to style. Still enjoyed this one. Didn’t blow me away...but had enough going on to make it worthwhile. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2008 22oz bottle thanks to Kevin. Slightly hazy honey yellow color. Doughy biscuit and cracker nose, heavy on the alcohol and with some Belgian yeast esters. Thick, big, a little boozy, sticky and chewy, but very fresh and vibrant, with a chewy honey coated barley flavor. Finishes with a frothy bite. Interesting stuff. sneagrams3 (1756), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Bready with an almost tea-like aroma. Medium to full bodied and warming. Moderate burn. Tart and bitter. Peppery. Good yeast showing. Dry bitter hop finish. Clumsy palate and poor melding. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2008 sampled at the San Diego Strong Ale Festival Nov 2008, an event share with what seemed liked hundreds of ratebeerians and enjoyed mostly through a straw, since my face was a bloody mess of scabs and stitches. poured celar golden (duh!) with a sweet and spicy aroma. flavor was intersting with a sweety fruity base top with some strage spice and mediceal flavor. All the differnet things could stand to mesh better.
