Commercial Description:
"We felt we had to do something special to mark our 19th Anniversary," said brewmaster Larry Sidor, "so we took a vow of silence and brewed our first Belgian style ale ever to be bottled."

The straw colored Strong Golden Ale is made from an impressively international list of ingredients that acknowledge the diverse roots of craft beer. "We used Czech Saaz, Slovenian Golding, Pacific Northwest Liberty, and Brewers Gold hops," said Sidor, "along with French pilsner malt, and Belgian white candy diamonds and bitter orange peel from the island of Curacao for a little extra kick and sizzle."

Bomber from jake65 - thanks, Jake! Big rush of yeast to the nostrils, pale malt with honey and touch of pilsnerish grassiness. Yellow-golden pour with a huge creamy white head. Sweet, very fruity taste with a big dollop of honey and nice fruity yeast; robust golden malts, bready with a little perfume. Touch of grain, slightly more white grape. Medium body and an aftertaste repeating the listed flavors. Soft, luscious mouthfeel. Despite the light booze, this is dangerously drinkable! Really, a nice little mix of styles here; too sweet, to be sure, but nothing like DFH’s sugar-bombs.

Aroma is yeasty, fruity, and spicey with some alcohol notes. Pours golden. Definitley agree with Aubrey that it had a malt liquor like alcohol effect. Flavors were mostly sweet and yeasty with a spicey bitterness and alcohol in the finish. Kind of regular, but it works I guess.

Golden-orange; patchy head. Smooth and weighty on the tongue with prickly carbonation; slightly sticky in the aft. Fruity notes throughout (apple, pear, grape). Alcohol was pretty evident; kind of malt liquor-like in a way. Mild bitterness. Faint flowers and gentle herbs. Nothing really "off" to complain about, aside from snippy alcohol.

22oz bomber-A hazy golden/orangish body with a nice white head and an aroma of yeast, orange, and alcohol. Taste of alcohol, slight yeast. No balance between the alcohol and everything else. If it was balanced would be a better beer.

22 oz bomber - brought back from San Francisco by my lovely wife. Murky medium orange pour with a slight white head that gets burnt off by the alcohol. Slight fruity aroma, pick up hints of pomegranates and passion fruit, whiff of alcohol. Strong flavor with some boozy notes. Fruitiness makes it way through with some white grapes, nectarines, faint citrus and maple syrup. Back end of alcohol. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Good night cap - just a tad too boozy overall though.

Overall smooth but not much going on. Taste is light with some belgian malt aspect and fades fast. Some sweeteness but somewhat bland. Golden color with some orange.

A little sharp. It’s big and belgian. Not their typical brew obviously. Kudos for the effort. Enjoyable 22 oz. but did want to move on to something else.
