| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2008 I simply expect more from Deschutes than this, especially when it comes to a special beer or a 20th Anniversary in this case. This is really on the husky side, with little to no body to it. Pours a clear golden coloring with lots of bulles screaming to the surface. Simple aroma with some light spiciness, but overall very tame. Has more of a spicy pilsner body, with a bit of wheaty cereal grain maltiness coming through in the aftertaste. Overall disapointing. trevor211 (529), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Pours clear, light honey color, with a thick, pillowy head. Aroma of orange and lemon zests, belgian yeast, and bright spices - coriander and a bit of nutmeg. Flavor is very light, adding wheat to the notes of the aroma, but it has no punch. I can see this being a great refresher on a hot day, but it tastes a bit diluted, and the carbonation is a bit weak for anything claiming Belgian inspiration. Good, but not great. I’d take Hoegaarden over it any day. chokmah33 (118), San Luis Obispo, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Creamy orange peel aroma. Coriander, anise, floral belgian yeasts, moist earth and fresh cut wheat.
Anise + coriander spicy flavor along with lemon/orange citrus. Yeast and wheat are subdued. Has a good bitter floral yeast character.
Easy going palate has a satin texture and a dry whisper finish. Warm citric astringency. Restrained bubbly.
A good beglian for a US Micro brewery, I’ve had too many over done ones. Underated. bumpskier (25), Sonoma, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Bottle in Truckee, Ca. As described a nice refreshing beer. Pours very clean and bright with a medium carbonation. I would have enjoyed a little more spice from the yeast. I am always excited about a Deschutes Anniversary beer, but this one left me a little in want. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 26, 2008 On tap at Newport Pizza and Ale house. Pours bright golden hue with good carbonation and a thin white head. Nose has a faint citrus and earthy note. Flavor is sweet with subtle spices and light grains underlying throughout. Mouthfeel is light and crisp and very refreshing. I found this wit to be very good and I will have it again! bb (2941), Martinez, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Bottle. Straw beer with a whitish head. Wheat aroma with light spice and light fruit. Wheat flavor with light orange, light spice - possibly something like grains of paradise. Medium body. Refreshing and easy to drink. Wheat, grains, spice, and orange linger. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Color is a slightly hazy golden with good carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is light with a hint of banana. Taste is light and easy. Starting with a light body that goes down easy and smooth it has a bright Hefe like taste at first but fades out quickly. After taste is clean with just a faint bitterness. Overall its tasty but a little light on flavor for a White.
