Commercial Description:
Deschutes Brewery's summer bond Street Series offers yet another refreshing, hot weather quencher to complement Twilight Ale. This unique Belgian-style wheat beer was brewed with zested Curacao orange peel and just enough spices to keep your taste buds guessing. Our brewers tinkered with the recipe for months at the Public House in Bend, Oregon, before perfecting what will arrive on shelves in 22-ounce bottles this June. One prototype of the Wit was sampled at Portland's Spring Beer and Wine Festival in March, where it earned a gold medal.

Bomber poured a very lightly hazy golden yellow with a small lingering white head. Aromas of wheat, coriander, light citrus and light yeast. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of wheat, coriander and light citrus with a crisp lingering spice finish.

I don’t know how they can consider this a Wit, it is’nt cloudy, does’nt have much orange zest flavor and no yeast character. Not a Wit in my opinion!

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with white head. Mild, perhaps spice fruit aroma. Not much Belgian character to it.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear(?) light golden yellow with a fine white head that retains and laces the glass.

The aroma is spices, wheat, a touch of fruits, and musty leather and medicinal alcohol with a little skunkiness.

The flavor is pretty subdued - wheaty malts, a little citrus, and some spices. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.

Overall, not a really good wit.

I enjoyed this one...mild, refreshing, meek. A great beer for a hot summer day!!! Nice frothy white head with a pale yellow body. The aroma is banana, yeast, orange, and clove. Flavor follows the nose and is as mellow. A tad watery but I don’t want or expect anything heavy in this style.

650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow gold color with a medium white head that lasts a short while. The aroma is musty fruits and bananas. The flavor is subtle with bananas, apple, a touch of cinnamon and spicy cloves. The mouthfeel was thin and watery. The finish was short and dry. Overall: I was not blown away by this beer, when I see the name Deschutes on a bottle I expect a tiger, but what I got was a kitten. A fairly ordinary wit.

22 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a hazy light golden color with a one finger thick white head. Light lacing that lasts. Aroma is a touch of yeast, spice, esters, and herbal hops. Typical for a nice Wit. Flavor is light yeast, esters, light spice, and a touch of phenolics. Palate is a touch dry and lingering. Light to medium body. A nice Wit.
