An almost black, red-brown colour with a thin, lasting beige head. Lovely roast malt aroma with hints of leather, tobacco and cocoa. Some good bitter chocolate too. Not quite so good in the mouth. Something oddly minty about it. The malt is quite obvious, the fruity notes are a little too plummy and dull for me and following the excellent aroma it all falls a bit flat. A little bit thin in the body too. Promised a lot, delivered little. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had much worse, I was just hoping for a bit more. zapprentice (312), East Setauket, New York, USA

Nice dark chocolate and coffee ice cream aroma. Chocolate coffee and subdued dark fruit with mildly robust roasted bitter finish. Medium light body with creamy fresh texture. Very nice session porter. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2009 A smooth creamy tasty bonus from MaltOMeal. A bit of a tan head that sticks around for a bit. Aroma is a little bit of purple fruit, a hint of molasses, and roasted chocolate malt. The crystal malt flavor is there with that rock candy sort of flavor I know. The finish is a little more chocolaty. Texture is creamy at first but then it leaves a chalky finish. A good smooth and full flavored porter here. gringo332 (246), Richardson, Texas, USA
