Pours nice and dark with a dark head. So very sooth with a hint of hops at finish. Very drinkable for a porter.

This has become a favorite of mine lately. Love the rich chocolate aroma backed by spice hops. Flavor is the same with just a hint of sour and smokiness. I order this regularly at my favorite pub.

Pours a burnt color from the bottle with a faint tan head. You can smell the charcoal in this brew from across the room. Mild taste of dark cocoa, watery coffee, and roasted malts. Agree with xpimptastikx that this could be a session porter, but in my opinion that’s a bad thing.

This beer is exceptional...best I’ve had in a while. Thin, light brown head; beer is dark brown/black in color. Chocolate is slightly evident in the nose. Very smooth, almost buttery mouthfeel. Good lacing. Bitter finish is balanced by the sweet chocolate. Can’t wait to have another one.

Pours a dark brown stream, with a small light brown head head, that has decent lacing. Smells smokey and roasted. Taste bittersweet, like smoke, chocolate, roasted malt. A slightly light feeling in the mouth, but very drinkable. Could be a session porter.

Draught. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Very dark brown almost black body. Wallnut hops aroma. Smoky creany roasted malt flavor with a bit of coffee but not much hops bitterness. Low carbonation and a long smoky aftertaste.

I feel like this beer is slightly overrated. And is this really a porter or a stout. To me this has been confused with the Obsidian Stout (which is really a porter). Pours pitch black with a medium tan head. Very creamy mouthfeel albeit a little watery. Great lacing as well. Lots of mocha in the aroma and taste but not much else. I prefer the Obsidian Stout to this by a long shot.

Bottle, pours very dark brown and smells heavily of roasted malts and molasses. The flavor is heavily dominated by roasted malts, but the beer also offers some complexity with notes of chocolate, molasses, nuts, fruit (prune?) and nice balance of hops in the finish. This is actually a very nice beer; even though it’s dark, it’s fairly light bodied and very drinkable. A very nice example of a well-balanced porter, perhaps slightly on the malted side, but I enjoy that.
