Bottle, pours very dark brown and smells heavily of roasted malts and molasses. The flavor is heavily dominated by roasted malts, but the beer also offers some complexity with notes of chocolate, molasses, nuts, fruit (prune?) and nice balance of hops in the finish. This is actually a very nice beer; even though it’s dark, it’s fairly light bodied and very drinkable. A very nice example of a well-balanced porter, perhaps slightly on the malted side, but I enjoy that.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma and flavor are both heavy on roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Not overly aggressive, however.

Dark and roasty, but light bodied enough to be a session beer for those of us with cojones. Pours a beautiful, warm brown and carries you away with a well balanced array of coffee and chocolate flavors. My personal favorite beer of all time, and very affordable as well!

This is my light daily drinking beer. Great chilled in the summer and served warm in the winter. Dark amber. consistent thick head. Just a hint sweet malt, coffee, chocolate. well balanced, and slightly lacking a boldness of flavor that makes it an easy choice for almost any occasion. leaves no aggressive bitter aftertaste. I usually keep this on hand.

I thought this was just a little heavy on the black patent malt. A tad too roasty for me, but a good porter nonetheless.

This is a darn good porter, pours black/red, nice tan head, smoky chocolate/coffee taste... with a bit of a woodsy aftertaste, will buy again, good stuff! Cheers!

Pours black with a tan head. Very heavy carbonation. Aroma is of malt, caramel, and dark fruit. Creamy mouthfeel. Doesn’t taste much like a porter. It’s very sweet with hints of fruit and caramel malts. Lingering taste of weak coffee. Very drinkable, and worth drinking again.
