This has a pretty massive malt background, to me this was a little too agressive, graham cracker maltiness, with some strong licorice notes that really put off my palate. Roasted, malty nose with chocolate and slightly citrussy notes of hops. Roasted, malty taste with chocolate, caramel, toffee, liquorice, cola and balanced amounts of citrussy hops in the finish. Balanced and nice beer. hockey28 (12), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 14, 2008 A quintessential PNW porter. Poured a dark brown-black body with a small grey-brown top. Roasty, malty, and nicely hopped with residual yet balanced bitterness. Creamy, silky, robust mouthfeel. All around, a great brew! killjoy966 (228), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2008 This was the beer that introduced me to the Pacific Northwest. Pours fairly dark, though some light is able to pass through. Roasty, toasty malts give way to a mildly hoppy finish and the slightest twinge of alcohol if I pay attention. Very solid porter that’s incredibly drinkable. craftbeerdesign (766), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
