Robust hints of dark-chocolate and rosty malts. A great warm you up porter. Well done! MrBendo (1044), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Somewhat opaque in the glass. Aroma of cocoa and dark malt. Sweet taste thats a bit too heavy handed with the chocolate. Medium body. Bitter finish. FlyingSwine (170), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Updated: Aug 2, 2008Pours jet black with a touch of white head. Aroma of some fruit that I can’t quite place (prunes, dried cherry?), along with dark chocolate. Its not entirely unpleasent, but unique. Flavor is sweet (chocolate) and malty, but not overly burnt like some Porters. Palate is thin, but according to style. Overall a very good Porter. Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 22, 2008 I finally just had this, which turned out to be a surprisingly good porter. It’s almost black red brown with a smallish light broan head that steadily dissipates to a bubbly ring and it is fairly bubbly. The aroma is chocolate, toast, hints of earth, leaves, and coffee - a good porter smell. The taste is very nice and pretty much what I’d expect from a good porter. It has good sweet-bitter balance, its fruity combined with toasted grain and toasted wheat bread, root beer, hints of chocolate and prunes. MrRain (436), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2008 12oz Bottle. Pours in the mid-ruby black, with copious soft tan head. Aroma presents crisp roast, with light cocoa powder, mild coffee and sea salt. Flavor runs similar, in real clean, bright aspects of the flavor. Sea beans, espresso, and sugared molasses cookies. There is a certain palpable filtered quality that I always draw from their beers, but there’s plenty enough flavor and decent malt depth here that I don’t mind too much. A very decent porter. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Pours a nicely darkened, mocha brown. Aroma is redolent of light roast coffee, sweet chocolate, hazelnuts and roasted malt. Flavor is oh so approachable, though there does seem to be a slight acidity that is destracting. Decent roasted note on the finish. All in all a pretty solid beer.
