Very balanced and malty like flavors. Not aggressively sweet nor chewy, but nicely balanced. I have had better, but I have also had far worse. Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Bottled, consumed on 12/15/07. Clear, dark brown pour. Nice head that faded fast to thin skin. Aroma is deliciously fruity: wine-like, with mocha/chocolate undertones. Smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel. Slight astringency a plus. Flavors are subtle and well-balanced: hard to pin down exactly due to the astringency making my tongue pucker! Mainly a mild roasted chocolate flavor with not much sweetness and even less bitterness. Flavor a little disappointing after the awesome aroma. Snojerk321 (2002), San Diego, California, USA

Not much aroma, flavors were not overpowering- some bitter chocolate, smoke, and coffee.
