Bottled. Such a good baseline type Porter. Nice brown mocha color. Very balanced and malty like flavors. Not aggressively sweet nor chewy, but nicely balanced. I have had better, but I have also had far worse.

Bottled, consumed on 12/15/07. Clear, dark brown pour. Nice head that faded fast to thin skin. Aroma is deliciously fruity: wine-like, with mocha/chocolate undertones. Smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel. Slight astringency a plus. Flavors are subtle and well-balanced: hard to pin down exactly due to the astringency making my tongue pucker! Mainly a mild roasted chocolate flavor with not much sweetness and even less bitterness. Flavor a little disappointing after the awesome aroma.

Very dark brown, fading to burnt gold at the edges, thick almond head with decent retention. aroma is of rich roasted malt, cream, faint vegetal (reedy) note. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, rich heavy roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Very delicious.

Draft at the Marriott bar on the Big Island. Dark pour, more carbonation than expected. Not much aroma, flavors were not overpowering- some bitter chocolate, smoke, and coffee. Overall I felt this was nothing special- nothing stood out for me with this one.

Black color. Simple Ale, some sweet caramel flavor and not much more. Tasted side-to-side to the Stout it doesn’t have the same character.
