| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 19, 2007 Bottle: Dark brown pour with a small, rocky tan head. Crisp, dark malt based nose, some accents of chocolate and hazelnut. Medium-light body. Roasted chocolate malt flavor that is really clean and crisp. Mild hop notes in the finish round it out. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Had this on tap at PDX Stanford’s Grill. On tap, this is so much different than in the bottle. For a porter, it’s really refreshing. Poured with minimal head, dark black. Flavor was dark roasted malts, but very smooth. One of Deschute’s strengths is in the water - you can really taste it in this beer and it adds so much. timfoolery (484), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 8, 2007 This porter pours with limited head and boasts a smooth taste. There’s just enough bitterness to make it an above average porter. Black Boss and Okacim are still superior.
