This location does not brew their own beer. Pours an opaque dark borwn brew with a thick beige head that slowly dissolves and leaves behind a creamy lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt, with some vanilla and flowery hop character. Taste is full bodied, lightly carbonated with a creamy chocolate malt taste. Finish is smooth and creamy with a slightly light malty aftertaste. Tejas (704), Dallas, Texas, USA

The beer pours to a dark cola colored body that looks black in quantity. A very lively creamy tan head sits on top and leaves a light delicate lacing. Lots of noticeable carbonation propagates up the side of my tulip glass. The aroma is heavily floral hops and crystal malt with a light soapy chocolate. The flavor is soapy floral hops and chocolate malt. Lots of crystal malt in this one. The palate is slick and light. A bit thin. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA

Chocolate malt and sugary aroma. Taste is a bit one dimensional, but full bodied feel. Tan head with lots of foam. HopDuvel99 (39), Tennessee, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2007 12 oz bottle, pours a near-black with a little beige head. Chocolate and caramel dominate, with a touch of green hops behind. Sweet toffee and malt also dominate the flavor with just a bit of tannic bitterness in the end. A good porter! japewang (42), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 1, 2007 On tap. Good pour, nice dark brown/black colour, thick white head. Molasses, chocolate, espresso. Syrupy, almost too sweet. Head dissappears after 1/4 of the glass. Drink quicker as the syrup like qualities really start to become abrasive as the beer heads to room temp. roder60 (1034), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2007 had this at the jacks bar in the canery in fishermans warf san fransisco. Bartender said it was his favorite and I found it to be quite yummy myself, however my fiance said it smelled like hotdogs. Nice dark color and appearance, aroma very well balanced between sweet molases with slight earthy hop aroma. Flavor reflects this with sweet lighter mouthfeel but still some slight tart bite to it. Overall, good beer.
