Bottled GBBF 09. A black beer with thin tan coloured bubbles for a head. The aroma is dry and smoky with roasty and fishy notes and a hint of vanilla. The taste is lightly smoky and quite burnt roasty. Fishy also. Nice.

Tap. Dark mahogany brown with a head that thins quickly but laces well. Roasty nose with coffee, cocoa, and burnt sugar. Taste is slightly sweet and roasty but very drinkable.

Color is black, some red when held to the light, with a thin light brown head that dissipated quick. Mild, sweet aroma. Has the chocolate and coffee notes you’d expect with a smooth, full mouthfeel. Overall, a very good example of the style.

Bottle from package store in Billings, MT. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet creamy chocolate coffee flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew that I would recommend to a freind.
