Pours dark brown with a bit of off white head that leaves a little bit of lacing. Carbonation is very fizzy and the head disipates very quickly. Smells a little bitter choclatey with some hops too it as well, not a bad smell but nothing special. Tastes a little spicey almost at first then gives way to a prominate bitter chocolate taste that stays with you for the moderately long aftertaste. You feel like you’ve been eating chocolate about 10 second after taking a sip its nice. Beer tastes better than it looks or smells.

Nov 28, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark, dark brown with a big, aggressive tan head that has great retention and wonderful lacing. Aroma is slight roast with a little chocolate, but there is not a really big nose that I can find. Flavor is rich and creamy with a nice subtle burnt note at the end. There are high spots of chocolate here and there that pop up once in a while. This is one of the smoothest porters I have ever had. This beer is delicious!!! One worth hunting out for sure!

Nov 28, 2008 On tap. Deep black with decent tan head, not too much lacing. Restrained aromas, and they never really came through even after ample time to warm up. Still the body was full and toasted with a warm peaty smokiness giving way to a prolonged but tempered dusty hop bittering. Solid brew for sure.

Nov 27, 2008 Bottle. Nose is chocolate and roasted coffee. Pours black with a bubblly brown head, almost inky. The flavor is intense chocolate and coffee, very well rounded with nearly no hop presence outside of balance. Thick palate is completely engulfing and intensely drinkable.
