travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Dec 29, 2008 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Smell is coffee, chocolate, malts, and roasty. Look is dark brown almost black with a small tan head. Taste is really roasty, coffee, chocolate, malts, and some alcohol. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Dec 29, 2008 Bottle courtesy of scrizzz. Pours black with a very small ring of light tan head. Aroma of truffles, cherries, and chocolate torte with a cherry filling. Flavor is not as luscious as the aroma, lots of chocolate, raspberry, and rich roasted malt. Thankfully, no overt alcohol presence. The bourbon is quite mellow and I did not detect any in the flavor. Very nice, quite drinkable too. I really enjoyed this one.

Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasty and toasty, coffee, lighter vanilla, and some wood. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, the same roasty and toastiness. I honestly would not have guessed this was barrel aged as the barrel aging was on the soft and subtle side. Alcohol content well hidden. Smooth and creamy body. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA Dec 26, 2008 pours a very dark black with small head. taste is sweet with roast and some coffee. nice finish. I would love to drink this again. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Dec 26, 2008 Thanks to Kegbear or this one. Pour ws thick engine oil with a lovely dark tan head. Aroma of alcohol, chocolate, and much sweet malt. Very full body with strong sweet malt, great roasted characters, and a light coffee bitterness at the finish. Very well blended but a bit thick for a porter. I would call this an imperial stout. Either way, great brew. Would love to age this guy for a couple years. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Dec 24, 2008 Draft @ Bond Street Brewpub, Bend OR. Pours a black color with a small tan head.
