Sep 5, 2008 Bottle from Windy City. Black pour with a smallish dirty brownish head. Strong roasted malty aroma. Quite a bit of chocolate and coffee. A little alcohol as well. Rich roasted flavor with some sweetness. Good roasted coffee flavors. A little bitterness and alcohol in the finish. A very potent and tasty brew.

Jul 28, 2009 22oz. Bottle: Complex aroma of burnt malts, cocoa, slight coffee, chocolate, slight vanilla, slight bourbon, light wood, and tobacco. Poured very dark brown in color with a small, light brown head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor is medium to heavily sweet. Tastes of roasted malts, slight vanilla, chocolate, light coffee, light bourbon, light wood, light caramel, slight tobacco, and a hint of piney hops. Medium to full body. Viscous, dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Dark roasted malt, chocolate, light coffee, slight bourbon, slight vanilla finish is dry. 11%ABV is totally hidden.

Feb 7, 2009 Bomber shared by Yobdoog - Thanks! Pours a nice deep oily black with a lasting thin tan-orange head. Aorma is tons of deep toasted and charred mals, along with a good amount of bourbon and chocolate malt- lots of coffee packed in as well. Chocoalte flavro upfront with more charr and roast in the middle- bourbon vanilla, coffee and a dry nuttiness in the end- some tar and licorice notes as is warmed up a bit. Pretty smooth overall and a very complex interested Impy stout. I liked it.

Sep 6, 2009 Pitch black color, light brown head. Charcoal, marshmallows, dark chocolate, big coffee beans, vanilla, dark chocolate, marshmallows, big espresso mouth. WOW, the espresso beans REALLY jump out. Fun stuff.

Jun 30, 2008 Bottle. Oily black, heavy, thick. Nose is heavenly, lots of coffee, burnt chocolate, toasted malts and a nice background of sweet Bourbon. So thick and velvety on the tongue, just coats the mouth in malts and dark coffee. finishes with a very pleasant Bourbon taste. Yummy!

Nov 29, 2008 Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Pours black color with a huge frothy brown head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Heavy toasted dark chocolate, wood and spicy malt aroma. Medium to full body with a thick smooth texture. Heavy roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet spice finish of long duration.
This is a standout porter.

Black pour nice tan head, well laced. Nice java & chocolate, aroma, roast malts, very nice. Palate is pretty avg. Sweet chocolates, followed by a big fresh coffee kick w/ a touch of cream. Fantastic coffee beer, I can’t wait to get more of this.
