This dark brown ale poured with a bubbly tan head and a chocolate aroma. There is an intense chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with an alcohol trailer that remains on the palate for a while. Very, very tasty. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

The flavor follows, somewhat sweet with some coffee, lots of buttery bourbon, and some notes of bittersweet dark chocolate. The only real surprise from this beer is the aggressive carbonation... I would have preferred a chewier body. Well-made beer, not many surprises, good. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA

Big smooth body. Flavors of coffee, cocoa and vanilla. Has a nice acrid edge. Relatively low but lingering bitterness and mellow hop flavor. Quite good overall but a touch disjointed. Flavor of coffee, dark fruits, a little on the sweet side, dark chocolate, some chewy hops and light bourbon. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA
