It is pitch black with a huge, light brown and creamy head. The aroma has sweetness and notes of licorice, coffee, wood and vanilla. The flavour has sweetness and light notes of bourbon is the first expression. It also has notes of licorice, wood, coffee, chocolate and the bitter, dry finish has some peppery alcohol. The nose was sweet, some coffee, bakers chocolate. Didn’t get any oak or bourbon from the nose or flavor. The flavor was lightly smokey, more bitter from the coffee and chocolate than I would have liked, some roast and some waxy hop flavor. Overall I feel like this one is pretty overrated. Yum. Medium body with a sharp tang. Tastes like a dark chocolate egg cream with a bitter, coffee bean bite. Alcohol grows with the finish but i didn’t pick up the bourbon. Needs some softening. Another great dessert beer, one of many that I have had recently. Very sweet and chocolaty. The aroma is a little to boozy, but time should help that out. Cocoa, coffee, sweet toasty malt, creamy chocolate, vanilla, and definite yet restrained bourbon and oak. Very nice creamy mouthfeel. This is a nice beer and should age well. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA

Peppery coffee aroma with dry roasted malt, dirty, really different, like nothing I had before, a little charcoal and chocolate, a little oxidzed cherry. Flavor is sweet cherry with coffee, a little woody, alc, a little oxidized, raspberry, a little cloying, bakers chocolate, a little hops, interesting but a little hairspray as well. Medium and light carbonation. Really sweet and alc is slightly off, this has a lot of really good merits though.
