| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Black, cappuccino head and lots of lacing. Smells of coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes of malts, chocolate, coffee and bourbon. Very creamy. It’s Black Butte--which is already a wonderful standard--but with every taste amplified. It’s a damn good beer. livelaughlovep (96), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

A bit of bourbon and fruit, oak is noticeable on the finish. Strong alcohol warmth with a thick, creamy, syrupy body. Wonderful smell of coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Big taste - whiskey flavors pervade, along with malts, chocolate and coffee. Outstanding brew - glad to have grabbed some. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 8, 2008 Pours tall tan head. Medium to large sized bubbles, but they don’t break down very fast. Wonderful porter aroma with a blend of coffee and bourbon in the aroma. Flavor is absolutely heavenly. Wonderful bourbon wood tones which intertwine with the coffee. Not really catching the cocoa nibs, but also not really missing it either. Nice warming on the palllate with bourbon aftertaste. A shame this is a limited edition. Also a shame that its $10/22oz. bottle, or I’d be stocking some of this in the basement to see how it mellows over time. If you can find it...GET IT!! If you can’t and want to trade for something equally unique from your neck of the woods hit me up! zathrus13 (1308), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and a touch of bourbon. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, and smaller amounts of bourbon and hops. Really good, but a bit more bourbon would have made it better. kbjames (242), Utah, USA

Dark, rich, with wonderful taste...a must have if you can get your hands on it. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 4, 2008 Bottle Pours a nearly opaque black with avery nice bronze/brown head that is dense and lasting. Big aroma of chocolate, pitted fruits or grapes, a little coffee, anice, and some spices like maybe cinnomin. A slight fumey alcohol note as well. Flavor is light roastedand chocolately. The bourbon is not over powering and is a nice compliment to the hefty ABV. Palatte is light and a bit thin but extremely soft and smooth. The carbonation is just right. A bit of the alcohol burn on re-entry. Lingering late bitterness. I have seen this on tap at the BP a few times and had hoped it wold make it to bottles. It did not dissapoint
