This was another beer (along with the Full Sail Wassail) shared by Nancy and Tom from their beer odyssey out West. Nice malty nose, nutty, notes of hops, mild chocolate, toast. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. The flavor was a toasty, nutty, warm, hoppy mix. Nice beer. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Bottle. Pours a nice, clear brown color. Fair khaki colored head with some lacing left behind. Lighter side of medium bodied. Aroma is fair with light chocolate standing out. Palate is a touch thin as is flavor. Decently malty, just a hint of chocolate and nut flavors. With a bit more effort on the malt side of things this might be very good. oldno7 (137), Spokane, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 1, 2005 I was slightly disappointed after trying this beer, dont get me wrong it is a great beer, it just wasn’t as heavy as I would have liked, of course this was out of a 22oz bottle totaly different then on tap at the brewery. Anyways it had a nutty flavor and a light body almost refreshing ( which a brown ale should NOT be ). All in all a good beer. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Available in 22oz bottles. Pours a rich mahogany, very clear, with a tall fluffy off-white head. This was one of the more flavorful and full bodied browns I have had in a while. Nutty malt sweetness up front, nice toastiness to it, finishing with a smooth balanced end. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2005 Bottle Pours a clear deep redish brown witha nice foamy light tan head. Nutty woody slightly sour aroma No surprises in the flavors. Low on the hops like a brown should be and a littel sweet. Nutty and soft with a fairly lifely fizz. Clean slightly dry finish and very drinkable.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 12, 2005 Pours mahagony with a 3" everlasting head. Toasty and earthy aroma with some caramel and milk. Rather thin in body and slightly oxidized. A little bit sweet with some mild caramel flavor. Finishes somewhat bitter. I’ve had better browns. frylock (1025), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2005 Bottle: Auburn color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is of cookie like malts, walnuts and some light toast. Smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel. Moderate sweetness followed by some light nutty notes. Light bitterness and just the faintest hint of roast in the finish. Light notes of cocoa are present as well. A solid example of a rather boring style. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2005 Bottle: Brownish dark copper, slight haze, lots of sediment (odd for a Deschutes brew), large foamy light beige head, fairly nice lacing.   Toasted malts, nutty, very faint dark chocolate or cocoa like bitterness.   Smooth nutty flavor, malty of the toasted kind, a hint of sweetness, with a very slight cocoa like bitterness at the finish.   Body and mouthfeel are light, but pleasing in this hot weather.   Not big nor robust, but very palatable and quite enjoyable.
