Plenty of caramel/toffee up front, faint alcohol in the background. Flavor again huge caramel and toffee, not much else. 1 dimensional, but not cloying at all, easy drink. Nice medium-full mouthfeel. Decent overall. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2006 Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. The aroma is of cola, molasses, alcohol, and nuts. It pours a transparent bright reddish-brown with a minimal off-white head that quickly becomes a ring around the edges of the glass. The flaovr starts with molasses, maple syrup, and fruit. the finish has some mild grassy bitterness. Minimal carbonation in the mouthfeel. hepburn82 (141), Scotland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2006 Bomber from West Vail Liquors. I like this brewery a lot but probably the weakest of their beers I’ve tried. Some spicy and caramel notes in the nose with a touch of treacle too. Malty backbone, creamy and sweetish. Smooth as you like. Little bitterness but some lasting tang. Ok but not a repeat buy. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2006 Bottle. Dark amber/ruddy brown body with just a wisp of bubbles in the center. Nose-very nice, spicy, cinammon, woody, honey, medium malts. Taste-cereal, light molasses, honey, medium restrained sweetness, very cheap light stale coffee, brandy/sherry, a sort of fruit sweetness that I can’t place. All in all, not bad at all, but nothing overly special. jcwattsrugger (5361), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2006 Courtesy of kenb. Low intensity malt aroma has caramel and very faint chocolate notes. Very baked sweet bread smelling with a whiff of spice and perfumey alcohol. If the intensity were a little higher this could smell real good. the body is a ruddy brown to full brown in darker light and holds a diminishing pinky sized tan head. Mostly just malty fore has little other flavor save some mild alcohol heat and very faint stewed fruit notes. Not even overly sweet just mostly low key. Enjoyable enough, but far from great. fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 16, 2006 I blame Walt for this not being perfect. He was in Denver when I bought it and thus potentially infected it, but far more likely that he infected me. Despite this accusation I find Deschutes to be not guilty of the charge. It was and I presume is a fairly decent beer, but the malty sweetness just went a bit TOO far and threw off the whole.
