Commercial Description:
Our Bock is brewed following the German Bock tradition. The use of German, British and domestic malts, a German Lager Yeast, as well as Nobel hop varieties, predominately Saaz & Sterling, create a traditional Bock. Lagered for 8 weeks, this bock is smooth with a nice creamy head, a malty sweet body and slight hop finish. March/April - now in 22oz bottles.

Crystal clear reddish brown with a nice khaki head. Chocolate covered raisins, coffee, a touch of chew spit in the aroma. Flavor is much the same with some hop spice and a bit of alcohol. Easy drinking body. Really quit enjoyable. Thanks BeerandBlues2.

Flavors of chocolate, coffee, berry, and prune. Nicely sweet with a good smokey flavor. A quickly fading head with good laceing. A deep brown color with just the right carbonation. Two thumbs up for me on this one!

Ok, this was my very first bock, and it made a believer out of me. I am new to the world of ’good’ beer, will never be able to drink typical US macro-swill again. Pours a dark clear reddish brown with a nice head. Very little lace. Floral somewhat yeasty aroma. This is a wonderful beer, and while I do not know if it is what a ’bock’ should be, it is the best beer I have ever had. Very complex, very malty but well balanced, there is a nice subtle hoppy finish, but smooth. Subtle chocolate, subtle caramel, mollasses, prune?..there is a lot underlying here, and it is all wonderful!************ Rerate 8/12/2006-ok 50 some craft brews later. I am trying this again. I still agree with my previous rating, the only thing to add is that this REALLY comes alive if you let it warm up to 55-60 degrees! It brings more of the fruity notes out and leaves a mild bit of berry like alcohol flavor in the finish. Nice.

Pours a nice mohogany color with minimal head. Head starts out okay but dicipates quickly. Nice malty smell, reminds me of cordial cherry chocolates. Nice mouthfeel, not too thick and not too thin for a Bock. Taste has a nice bready character mixed in with cherry chocolates, very malty. Hops present themselves but the beer remains balanced. Very good interpretation of a Bock by Deschutes. One thing that I like about Deschutes so much is the value. They bring these types of beers out and often they are less then $5.00. This beer was only a little over $3.00 (I think $3.25 or something... less then $4.00). This is a great value!

Pours a one finger cream head that fades to a ring leaving no lace. Deep mahogany color. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Slight malty nose. Starts sweet but not cloying, nice balance with the hops gives it a bitter chocolate flavor. Smooth, easy to drink. $3.65 for a 22oz bottle from Liquid Solutions Tigard, Or. Bottle HAS the ABV at 6.5%.

Pours a clean mahagony with a tiny tan head, edgy with no lacing. Aroma is malt (biscuit), yeast (grass), sweet caramel and maple notes, hay and straw. Medium sweetness, no acidity or bitterness, sweet caramel malt, earthy yeast, straw, hay and cardboard. Medium bodied, thin and oily palate.

Bomber. ..Malty, carmel, nutty and grainy.. .. Dark Brown with tan head. Clear with a few small bubbles. .. Malty start with a hint of bitterness. Sweet long finish. .. . Medium-light body. Nice carbonation. .. . A tasty Bock. Almost a doppelbock, but lighter, not as heavy. Good stuff.

Nice deep brownish copper color with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, and roasty. Taste is very smooth blend of malts, roastiness, subtle chocolate, and light hoppiness. Clean finish and well balanced brew.
