Aroma of chocolate, grains, nuts, caramel, and a hint of grass. Pours a dark transparent amber with slight touch of haze and a moderate off-white head that lasts a minute or so. Sporadic lacing. Flavor is very nutty from start to finish with strong chocolate and caramel backbone. Hints of grain and a light grassy bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a tad watery with light carbonation. Nothing special, but solid for a brown ale. lukin013 (211), Columbia, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2006 Medium brown color with a respectable off-white head. Nose is of nuts, caramel, and some bread. Flavor is dominated by the roasty, nutty malts at first then fades into subtle creamy sweet caramel and a mild hop bitterness. Texture is wonderfully thick and creamy for a brown ale. Thanks to Indiana_Red for the bottle. Delicious. unclemattie (2436), Georgia, USA
