This beer pours a dark amber-brown color with a thin and lasting beige head. Stringy lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and nuts in the nose, along with some fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted nuts, malt, chocolate and a bit of hops. The finish is sweet and malty with a lingering hops and fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall. ditmier (1076), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | May 9, 2008 2008 Bottle - Puours a translucent brown with a small tan head....Like most browns, this is subtle malt and toasty grain, but buzzsaw also has a nice hop bitterness that other browns lack....nothing too great about this beer, but drinkable... blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2008 A pretty decent brown ale remniscent of samuel smiths nutbrow minus the nut aspect and a bit watery. A great spring beer for just kicking back and watching the rain fall with your hot girlfriend. ROFL! talon1117 (622), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Pours a brownish-crimson color with an average, creamy, yellowish head; it is mostly lasting and leaves some nice lacing. Nose is certainly filled with dry almond notes as well as toffee and maybe light vanilla. Flavor is similar with the same roasted almond notes to match light toffee and graham crackers with light earthy bitterness. Palate is moderately light, lively, and watery. Finishes short with some lingering nuttiness and some faint earthy malt tones. The nutty qualities make for a nice brown, but this one lacks the chocolate notes of better American examples. Quite similar to the English varieties with more toffee notes and a lighter palate. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 27, 2008 I still like the Bond St. Brown a little better, was this is still very drinkable and would make a great session brown when it turns to fall and is a little chilier. Hearty on the first sip, this could definitely be a great food pairing beer for heartier stews and soups. Graham cracker maltiness, with some caramel malt sweetness. Really enjoyable.
