Pours a redish-brown with a nice one finger head. Aroma of nuts and honey. You can certainly taste the yeast, and bittering hops with a touch of malt. The flavor is well balanced and refreshing. Mouth is smooth and creamy. It has a much heavier mouthfeel than I expected when it was poured. Overall a very good brown ale.

Oct 27, 2008 A little bit too watery for both a brown and a deschutes brew, but it does have a really nice pour with a big ol’ head that dissipates slowly. Very biscuity, kind of bland.

Sep 5, 2008 on tap at papago... clear woody brown pour with a pillowy light beige head and some horizontal lacing. distinct aroma of baking powder/biscuits with notes of wood, caramel and toasted walnuts. the flavor has an acidity/astringency similar to baking powder as well... combined malt/grain but little to no residual sweetness and a dry slightly spicy finish. there’s a bitterness and coffee-like quality in the aftertaste. light to medium body. meh.

Aug 3, 2008 Pours a deep tea color with not head. Nose of darker malt, caramel, toffee, biscuits and nuts. Flavor has malt, caramel and cherries. Mouthfeel is light and bubbly. Sweet and salty finish.

Jun 29, 2008 Pours a light brown with an off-white head. Caramel, roasted malt, biscuits, hops, and a bit of toasted nuts and chocolate. Not an amazing brown, but not bad and easy to drink.

Thin body apparent, sour cherry and metallic tastes, salty finish flattens out.
