Dragon99 (57), Laramie, Wyoming, USA Nov 3, 2001 Strikes a good balance between hops and malts. Good aroma. Smooth aftertaste. milljame99 (24), Corvallis, Oregon, USA Mar 19, 2004 Updated: Mar 27, 2004One word describes this coppery pouring beer with a nice head...Wonderful. Very balanced throughout with a wonderful finish. Strongly recommended. Macanudo (14), USA Apr 3, 2005 IMO, the best beer Deschutes brews. Clean fresh every time. Served at the right temp, it’s a fantastic beer. jah noth (956), Rochester, New York, USA Jan 22, 2005 Nice and pleasant herbal hop aroma. Light golden in color with a tiny haze. Crisp and quick flavor, nicely hopped, refreshing, slight caramel tang at the swallow. This beer dances on your tongue. It is a nice beer and unfortunately rated too low - sometimes we have to look at the beer in its style not compared to Ruination. For a golden ale it is exceptional. Gromit (450), Port Orchard, Washington, USA Oct 4, 2003 Pours a nice amber color with just a little head that goes away quickly leaving almost no lace.
Smells floral and a bit malty but only the slightest hint of hops.
Taste is good. It's almost like a Mirror Pond without as much hops. It's a little bready, too.
Mouthfeel is much fuller than I was expecting. Drinkability scores high because it's light and refreshing plus has a relatively low alcohol content (4.5%). I could easily drink these all night long.
Yet another good offering from my favorite brewery.
