Commercial Description:
A medium bodied amber ale, Cinder Cone Red has a rich malt flavor and red color derived from four kinds of caramel malt with a hint of dark roasted barley. Amarillo and Tettnang hops balance the toffee sweetness, creating a refreshing full hop flavor. Available January through June.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Beautiful, warm, clear amber with an off-white head. Lightly sweet caramel aroma. Medium body with dry notes of caramel and a fairly hoppy finish. Well crafted. 290307

Beautiful pour. Prettiest beer I’ve poured in a while. Everything about this beer is quite similar to the fan-favorite Deschutes Pale Ale. But even more drinkable. Perhaps a bit sweeter. Great beer.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a nice white head on top. Aroma is pretty malty with caramel, toffee, and roasted barley. Hints of hops are in the aroma as well. Flavor is hoppy at first with bites of citrus hitting the tongue. Caramel and toffee come in also giving the beer some sweetness. The beer finishes dry with caramel and toffee flavors. A good refreshing beer that makes it a very drinkable beer. The name of the beer does it right.

Very nice amber color, with good clarity and ample wavy head...really 4+ in appearance...aroma is caramelly with brighter notes from the hops---quite nice...Flavor is multi-layered...good malt floor provides sweetness, balanced by well-hopped top-end that starts out slightly citrusy and then gives way to and interesting floral bloom that is dry at the same time...finish is dry with some lingering malty sweetness riding shotgun..The body is appropriately middle-of-the-road, with enough malt weighiness...it is also effervescent, the moderate carbonation providing enough spritely quality to complement the whole package...Overall, this is well-constructed, well-balanced, good-looking, and good-tasting...a really nice all-around performer...

Bottle. Nice amber pour, dark crystal malt and hops in the aroma. Sweet dark malt with a tinge of spiciness, substantial hop presence balances well. A very well done amber, would certainly have this one again.

I had this at a tasting at Bevmo. This is one of the best amber ales I’ve ever had. It has a nice balance of flavor between hops & malt. The nose isn’t too big, but this is a great session brew.

Bottle. Pours dark amber, small off-white head. Not much in the nose, some hops but pretty weak. Flavor seems overly dominated by hops for the style. not much of the caramel and toffee sweetness that was expected. Finish is hops bitterness. As the beer warmed the sweetness came out a bit and flavor balance. If I try it again i will drink it at 50 degrees instead of 40.

Poured a nice red color, as promised. Floral aroma, nice grapefruit finish.
