Berserkir (38), New York, USA Oct 18, 2008 Bottle pours a orange, amber with a light white head. Aroma is light orange, caramel, bitter. Flavor is caramel, bitter, earthy dry. Slightly chewy. arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 17, 2008 I really enjoy the Deschutes beers so I thought I would give this one a try. The orange color and creamy head look good so far. I can’t smell much but my sense of smell has been shot for a couple weeks so, whatever. The taste reminds me of a more subdued Hop Trip. I loved the Hop Trip but this one seems like a watered down version but then again, what do I know? Very sessionable due to the low alcohol and easy-going taste. Not bad, but I prefer the Hop Trip.

TikiE (360), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottled: from out west! Pours a red amber color with a small amount of visible yeast. Smells of malt with hints of caramel, and taste sweet tartish with a lasting flavor of toffee. Nice amber ale! rthbass (27), Vancouver, Washington, USA Aug 18, 2008 On tap at Deschutes in Portland.
I always look forward to seeing this seasonal on tap. Very balanced. Great aroma and hop profile. A little unfocused on the mid-palate. Leaves you wanting a little more body. All in all and great red ale! Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 10, 2008 355 ml bottle. Reddish amber body with a creamy, light beige head. Aroma is fruity, grapefruit and berries with a little hint of caramel. Flavor is balanced sweet and bitter with fruit. Harmonic, balanced, with a sharp bitterness. Really nice.
