Commercial Description:
A medium bodied amber ale, Cinder Cone Red has a rich malt flavor and red color derived from four kinds of caramel malt with a hint of dark roasted barley. Amarillo and Tettnang hops balance the toffee sweetness, creating a refreshing full hop flavor. Available January through June.

Light brown with a red tinge. Medium head. Light amarillo aroma all the way...Refreshing mix of bready malts, citrus and a bitter finish. Balanced well, but still packs plenty of hops. Great beer to bust out at the top of a long hike.

Thanks to Darkelf for sending this one my way. Poured an effervescent dark amber/red with a large creamy off-white head which left thick uniform lacing. Spicy hoppy aroma of cinnamon, pine, caramel, butterscotch, a bit of dustiness. Flavor is pretty light and smooth caramel, grassy hops... much less sweet than the aroma. Leads to a dry grass/pine finish. Average body, maybe a little thin. Nice crisp dry beer.

Found this one bottled at the Liquor Depot in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Hazy, orange reddish pour with floaties, a foamy, off white head, toffee and candy apple nose, chocolate malt, nice and malty, mild but very quaffable.

bottle thanks to bhensonb. poured a hazy dark amber with an off white head that laces the glass. aroma of caramel malt, fruity hops, peach, slight dark ripened fruits, and some grains. flavor was a step down for me with caramel, florals, some slight dark roast, and spent grains. medium body with high carbonation. a good brew for what use to be my favorite style.

Good hoppy nose to this amber ale. Malt is sweet with nice roasted finish that's when the hops take over. Next one I'll drink a tad warmer.
