Commercial Description:
A medium bodied amber ale, Cinder Cone Red has a rich malt flavor and red color derived from four kinds of caramel malt with a hint of dark roasted barley. Amarillo and Tettnang hops balance the toffee sweetness, creating a refreshing full hop flavor. Available January through June.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a nice white head on top. Aroma is pretty malty with caramel, toffee, and roasted barley. Hints of hops are in the aroma as well. Flavor is hoppy at first with bites of citrus hitting the tongue. Caramel and toffee come in also giving the beer some sweetness. The beer finishes dry with caramel and toffee flavors. A good refreshing beer that makes it a very drinkable beer. The name of the beer does it right.

Nice amber red sunset color, light flavors of toffee, raspberriess and honey... all with a medium bitter backbone. All around light, refreshing and well balanced. Finishes with some hoppy flavors as well. Very well done for and amber.

To say the least it is a very interesting beer. Deep amber color and off-white, fluffy head. Nose strong with flowery-piney hops up front and maybe grapefruit, peach, and apricot notes following. Faint toasty malt far in the background. Soft, medium-bodied grapefruit taste is prominent. Nectar fruit and mild toastiness (and maybe toffee?) drift into the background. Finally, flowery, slightly piney hops come to balance the palate and finish into the end, with the grapefruit taste still lingering. Very interesting for an amber; mild complexity in a very drinkable beer. Although I am a little curious why is is offered in the winter, when I would much rather try in the spring?

Deep Golden Brownish Reddish. Piney hop flavor. Even bitter finish. I love this beer.

deep amber pour with a nice size beige head. nose is lightly hopped with bitter malts and caramel coming through. quite full on the palate with a flavor of citrusy hops that fade to caramel and a smooth hop finish.

12oz bottle: pours amber brown with decent offwhite head, aroma dominated by citrus hops, flavor has good hop bite with some caremel coming through, this beer tastes like a mix of an amber and IPA. pretty good i like.

Bottle. Nice aroma. I picked up vanilla, almond and wheat. The first flavor note is solid. But flavor tends to fade. Malt flavor is strong. Some light chocolate and caramel midrange notes too. A very good beer. Perfect with dinner.

Nice orange color with a retained off white head and some lacing. Aroma is typical amber, caramelly malty, but wait what is this? An amber ale with hops in the aroma?. The flavor delivers a nice hop zing that really vaults this amber to the top of the charts. Nice interplay between the malts and the hops with a slight tilt towards the hops. Works for me!!!
