Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark amber, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is
moderately malty (toasted bread, cookie, roasted grain),
lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot, grapefruit),
lightly yeasty (dough),
with notes of black tea, earth, redcurrant.
Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is
lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Quite interesting aroma for the style (and fairly easy-going hops, surprisingly). A little rough-edged in the mouth, but balanced well. Nice. robertjm (406), El Cerrito, California, USA

Hops linger on the tongue for minutes. Gorgeous red color. Head could've lasted longer, but so be it. Fairly neutral aroma in the bottle I'm sampling. A definite keeper!! | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 15, 2006 Beautiful not-quite-clear copper with a good white head; defintely more red than amber. Taste and mouth feel made me think of Brazil nuts ... a little malty sweetness, but with a nutty dryness like eating nuts. Some bitterness from the hops, but not the west coast piney citrus type. Enjoyable. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
