Apr 13, 2007 Bottle(5.4%) from BevMo, La Mesa. Pours a medium amber color. Nice sweet citric hop aroma with a hint of some English hop aroma. Some maltiness as well. Nice smooth hoppy flavors. Nicely balanced by some maltiness and some sweet character. Bitter hoppy finish.

Mar 31, 2004 Bottle. Nice reddish amber color - just what you want to see in a 'red ale'- topped by a nice off-white head. Caramel malt aroma. I was surprised at the amount of hops in here. It's well balanced, has a good hop flavor and is a good amber ale (not my usual). Not bad at all.

May 26, 2007 Ah Deschutes. They rarely brew a bad beer and this is no exception. Really pleasing malt, nicely balanced with some fresh hop character. Some astringency in the palate limits drinkability, but its still a nice drop, just not Deschutes best.

Feb 1, 2004 Pleasant fruity and piney hop aroma. Brilliant clear copper color, thin off-white head. Flavor is a smooth blend of spicy hops and caramel malt. Even balance, with a slight hop bitterness lingering in the finish. Refreshing, well-balanced amber ale, good session beer.

Jul 7, 2003 Dark redish amber, thick slow lacing. Yummy hoppy with slight alcohol aroma. Flavor is unbalanced, almost no malt flavors, spicey though. Palate is sweet and bitter, very decent. Refreshing alternative for ambers with a very modern twist.

Feb 1, 2004 Pours a dark copper with a small, white head that leaves behind little lacing. Big hop character in the nose, mostly sweet citrus, and some small malts. A slight alcohol presence is detectable as well. Flavors starts out with tangy fruits, then a bit woody with malts smoothing it out till the bitter hop end. Nice and tangy palate that is slightly spicy. Not a bad amber at all.

Jul 5, 2003 I was pleasantly surprise and very much enjoyed this one. Deep amber richness in color, conplex and hoppy in the flavor which has a bit of a cinnamon hint in the finish.

Jul 14, 2004 Fruity hop nose with some toffee as well. Dark amber color with a small head. Flavor is hoppy up front with some fruity malt balance and a hints of caramel. Very drinkable.
